Street Art Festival 2018

Life News

The Street Art Festival launches with a DJ set from the incomparable Simon Vinyl Junkie. You’ll also be able to sample some nicely spiced cooking from Uncle Wayne’s Jerk Station. As always, there will be a donations bar with a range of ales from local breweries, Springhead and Pheasantry.

This Summer at Surface Gallery sees the return of the most anarchic, the most spectacular show in town: the Nottingham Street Art Festival. This hugely popular exhibition supports and promotes Nottingham’s vibrant alternative art scene by showcasing some of today’s best local talent. As if deviant angels and rigid digits weren’t enough to grab your fancy, this year the exhibition will again occupy our three-story building from top to bottom—including our alternative artspace, Le Loovre.

Local property development company, Carlton Street Trading, is proposing to replace the derelict former shop units fronting Lower Parliament Street with a new development that will also signpost the entrance to Sneinton Market.

Sneinton Market is becoming the most rapidly developing area within Nottingham City Centre.

A major regeneration programme is underway that will transform the former fruit & veg market into an exciting creative hub offering independent shops, studios, food & drink outlets a music venue and exhibition space.

The development will be in the heart of The Creative Quarter and will be a welcome extension to already buzzing Hockley scene.
