The Creative Quarter Company (CQC) is committed to being an anti-racist organisation and acknowledge, challenge and effectively address all forms of racism wherever we, our stakeholders, and the wider public find it or experience it.
Within Nottingham’s creative and digital sector, the CQC has a responsibility to seek out, work with, and support local people, the wider public and global community who share our vision for the city: a city that is interconnected, collaborative and community focused. We want to reflect a true picture of Nottingham in the diverse stories we elevate, the businesses we champion, the creatives and innovators we work alongside.
We recognise that as an organisation, we have been doing a disservice to our city’s diverse community by not actively considering the barriers to accessing our support or interacting with us in the past. We have been passive, when the creative sector desperately needs to embrace active change.
Our ultimate goal is to foster a belief that anyone, from anywhere, can reach out to us, and feel confident that their questions will be answered, their concerns listened to, and their ideas supported. Racism is detrimental to personal and collective growth and hinders economic, social and cultural development.
