Ambigu, a bakery set to open in Sneinton Market Avenues, is raising fund for a stone mill for the unit.
Invest AnnouncementsAmbigu Bakery is set to open its doors next month at Unit 29, Sneinton Market, baking delicious homemade bread right in the heart of Nottingham City Centre. Ahead of the grand opening, owner Emilie is raising funds to purchase a stone mill for the new bakery.
Emilie is part of a Mill Cooperative, pushing to localise and humanise modern mills.
‘We believe that these localised and human-scale systems produce food that is more delicious, more diverse, and healthier for us, whilst regenerating the environment, bringing communities together, and creating opportunities for meaningful work.’
As part of the fight against large corporations and producers, the cooperative needs a mill to enable them to process grain on site. Emilie has set up a crowdfunding page, to raise funds for the mill, which goes live this Friday 27th August.
‘The Mill will enable us to buy grain direct from, and establish long-term relationships with farmers. By all working closely together we will be able to thrive as well as grow the network of farmers, millers, and bakers in Nottingham. We love visiting the amazing farmers who grow the grain destined for our bakeries and we can't wait to share their stories with you too.’
