Revised plans submitted for 149-169 Lower Parliament Street will see an increase of student beds to 215, exterior changes and a roof terrace.
Invest NewsThe derelict site at 149-169 Lower Parliament Street which has been earmarked for student accommodation has had revised plans submitted by Leonard Design Architects, for IQ students.
The proposed scheme aims to regenerate this prominent and important site within the Eastside Regeneration Zone through a scheme that is both sensitive to the conservation area whilst also becoming a striking and quality piece of architecture it its own right.
New additions/ changes:
Nelson Street will provide the main entrance to the student Scheme and will also be activated by external seating, landscaped planting and paving design, and provision of cycle hoop bike stands. Full height glazing will allow for visibility through the entranceway to the communal student spaces beyond, whilst the studios along Nelson Street will also benefit from portions of full height glazing to provide a bright a pleasant living experience.
Lower Parliament Street will be activated by the double height glazing to the cafe/ bar space as well as full height glazing the communal areas, including quiet study zone, communal dining kitchen, and open plan gym.
IQ are an owner and operator of student accommodation across the UK, operating 68 sites across 27 UK towns.
