The It’s in Nottingham Independent campaign returns once again to showcase and celebrate Nottingham’s unique mix of independent businesses.

“Being shortlisted in the top ten was great and provided a real boost to our business because it drew attention to us and resulted in lots of media coverage. Then going on to win the competition overall was a real bonus. It helped to raise our profile further and attract a lot of new customers which was great for the business, enabling us to refurbish the coffee shop to give it a fresh new look and provide further seating for customers.”

“Nottingham is the envy of many towns and cities for its reputation as being home to a great range of independent businesses and it is important that we recognise and celebrate them. That is exactly why we launched this initiative seven years ago and it is brilliant to see it going from strength to strength each year.”

Geoff Williams, one of the directors of the Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID), the organisation behind this It’s in Nottingham initiative

“We are very proud to have so many great independently owned shops, restaurants, bars, pubs, cafes, music venues and visitor attractions in the city which help to set Nottingham apart from other places so it’s really important to highlight them through initiatives like this.”
