DHP Family has been crowned Live Promoter of the Year at the Music Week Awards in a landmark moment for the live music company.
Life NewsThe Music Week Awards 2019 honoured the best in the live music industry last night (9 May) at what is the biggest night in the music industry calendar.
DHP Family saw off a strong challenge from Live Nation, AEG Presents and last year’s winner Kilimanjaro Live to secure the win for Live Music Promoter (Company).
“It’s a huge moment for DHP Family winning the most coveted of the live awards. We’re delighted that the hard work and growth we’ve achieved is being recognised across the industry.”
MD George AkinsDHP’s live business has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years with a focus on live development of acts playing everything from intimate venues up to some of the biggest international artists playing UK tours in world-renowned arenas.
“We had a huge year with Ed Sheeran last summer with more shows coming up this summer to conclude the ÷ tour and fantastic shows with Massive Attack, The War on Drugs, Tash Sultana amongst many others.”
George addedHosted for the first time by Radio 2’s Jo Whiley, the awards moved to a bigger venue – Battersea Evolution – and drew a 1,300-strong industry crowd to the impressive location.
