This is a new programme with people aged 60+ in mind, featuring a range of opportunities to engage in the Arts across Nottingham.
Life OpportunitiesUsing a bespoke arts programme ArtSpeak are aiming to address some of the issues that can affect an ageing population of a city. We want to help improve the social well-being of older people and make our over 60's more visible and active in society.
Their belief is that cultural engagement at any age underpins emotional stability and benefits health and wellbeing.
Things you can expect from ArtSpeak:
The ArtSpeak programme will cover the following strands of activity:
ArtSpeak Create – hands on workshops ie. Pottery, painting, woodwork, paper craft, origami, mosaic making
ArtSpeak Participate – Dance classes, theatre pieces, photography classes
ArtSpeak Collaborate – intergenerational and co-producing arts projects working alongside a variety of artists and recruiting older artists to work with us
ArtSpeak Live – music, theatre, choirs, poetry slams, stand up comedy and dance performances
ArtSpeak Meets –gallery walkthroughs, workshops in cultural venues, and group visits to other cultural venues, cities and places
ArtSpeak Creative Café –a consultation process to find out about the local area and develop an ArtSpeak hub
