Gloworm is the 5-time Uk Festival award nominated, family friendly festival that brings music, art and entertainment to the heart of Sherwood Forest.
Life NewsHelena Tyce Designs is the official illustrator for Gloworm Family Festival being held this weekend at Thorsby Park!
The Gloworm festival is the one true family festival, that encourages families to play and have fun in a safe environment.
Here's what Helena had to say about the wonderful Gloworm Festival...
Gloworm Family Festival is in it’s 4th year and I’ve been the official illustrator since it started. I was approached back in 2015 because my work is aimed mainly at kids and the organisers had liked my style of illustration for a while.
I share the Gloworm ethos of kids being kids - being creative, getting messy, exploring and having fun! Every year there is something new and exciting at Gloworm - we go as a family every year and it’s one of our highlights.
I created the logo and do all of the illustrations for branding plus provide illustrations which will be blown up large scale on site. Plus the all important site map which this year is a treasure map of course!
The festival has a theme every year. Last year was superhero’s. Families are encouraged to dress up on the Sunday!l and there are some Stirling efforts! Last year a brilliant family of Incredibles could be seen roaming around!
There's loads to do across the site - on the main stage you can catch performances from Peppa Pig, have a BLAST with Sublime Science and dance the night away with Noasis, Mr Bloom and his Band and the Ultimate Jess Glynne tribute! You can learn something new in one of the workshops or meet and greet your favourite characters from TV!!
It’s an amazing festival full of lovely people having a brilliant time. And best of all everything is free (apart from food etc) once your in!
Helena Tyce Designs is very much about kids and big kids. I believe strongly that kids need art - it gives them something that nothing else does.
And a big part of my business is about giving back. There are a lot of kids that don’t get exposed to art and I wanted to give the kids at Pretty Windows the chance to see and artist at work and have a bit of art in their life! It might open up thoughts for them that they have never dreamed about before! It’s about opening up horizons.
