Even though the weather wasn't on our side for Small Business Saturday on December 1st, that didn't dampen the spirits of those involved and those that attended Christmas on The Avenues.
Life NewsLast Saturday was a great success for the independent businesses of Sneinton Market Avenues and for the stall holders of Christmas on The Avenues. Everyone was full of festive cheer and enjoying their time. The atmosphere was wonderful as you could hear children laughing and playing, friends and family coming together to celebrate the festivities and the air filled with Christmas tunes that have you singing along to that were provided by Dirty Disco Sound System.
Children could go on a treasure hunt to find letters in the units and see what the secrete word spelt out, there was a lucky dip where you popped one of the baubles and received a prize, create your reindeer antlers to wear and you had the chance to send a letter to Santa of all the things you'd like for Christmas.
There was a giant snow globe set up in the plaza area. Attendees were climbing in, throwing the snow around for the photos to be taken and then treasured as memories to look back on. The children had hours of fun playing inside and it was something exciting to get you out of the rain for a while.
“Sneinton Market Avenues is the place to be. Whatever the weather, you can still have a good time with loved ones.”
There was an array of market stalls filled with amazing handmade products by local craftspeople. Our market stalls had attendees browsing for hours, if you were unsure on what to get for someone special this Christmas, the market stalls had something for everyone so you wouldn't have left empty handed.
If you didn't get the chance to see the craft stalls, here they are:
