by The Carousel
Taking over the old Nottingham Writer’s Studio, The Carousel is the most recent brainchild of print studio Dizzy Ink alongside local artists Farida Makki and Martin Rayment. Through a lively programme of workshops, talks, exhibitions, collaborative projects and events, The Carousel encourages everyone to engage with art in all its forms.
Life NewsAfter months of construction, the Hockley building has been converted to embrace a diverse range of new tenants including former residents Nottingham Writers Studio, local radio station City Beat Radio and a collective of freelance makers from around the city, to name only a few - all with a vibrant new design that mimics the ethos of the new owners.
Nottingham’s newest artspace is dedicated to offering art studios, co-working spaces and areas to host events and workshops across creative disciplines. To celebrate the official opening of the new venue, The Carousel launch event will take place on the 30th of March at 7 pm.
The evening will begin as a potluck style get-together featuring some of Nottingham’s finest Indian cuisine alongside a call to help create a collective artwork to mark the special evening. Taking us into the early hours, City Beat DJs will be spinning records to warm the new space.
