Today, after a 3-year, £30m redevelopment, Nottingham Castle has thrown open its doors to welcome back visitors to their epic new visitor experience. The potential cultural and financial impact this will have on our city is massive, and here at the Creative Quarter, we're throwing our support behind Nottingham Castle and celebrating another string being added to our city's bow (pun intended).
To encourage locals and visitors alike to explore all of Nottingham, from the Castle in the west to the Creative Quarter in the east, we've put together a number of suggested walks on Google Maps, pinpointing some of our favourite sights, our greatest independent shops, and the best places to eat and drink as you walk from the Castle to the Creative Quarter (or vice versa!). However you decide to traverse Nottingham, we recommend starting or ending your day at the Castle or the Creative Quarter, and exploring all the architecture, statues, street art, shops, restaurants, cafe bars...and everything in between.
