Meet The Team! We gave our team a series of short questions to discover more about their role at the Creative Quarter. Here's Sinéad, our Marketing Manager.
The CQ BlogSinéad Bevan, Marketing Manager
A bit about you:
What’s your background?
I have a background in arts and charity marketing – I started my career at Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry, then moved to Nottingham to work at Nottingham Playhouse. I’ve since worked for the Theatre Royal and Royal Concert Hall, and for the Notts County Foundation. I think I’m a Nottingham lifer now!
Describe your role at the CQ:
If something needs communicating publicly, I’m behind it! That means social media, our website, our regular email newsletters and any advertising or press releases around the Creative Quarter or The Big House activity. My average day always involves a lot of words, and finding ways to communicate across different platforms to different audiences. There’s a lot of editing, rejigging and resizing involved!
Tell us about a part of your job that people might not realise you do?
Perhaps it’s just the sheer volume of content - I have two websites and eight social media channels to manage across The Big House and the Creative Quarter. I also work with external suppliers to deliver marketing materials, from the CQ banners hanging in Sneinton Market to the video showcases we produce for The Big House. All of that content starts and finishes on my desk.
What is your favourite part of working at the CQ?
I love the passion and the camaraderie within the team. We all care a lot about what happens within the creative community and around the CQ locality, and we want to make sure everyone feels a part of it. We’re advocates for the businesses here and we fight to amplify the stories and put across the issues that our community needs addressed.
What places in the CQ do you love to visit when you’re not in work?
If I was told I could only pick one street in the CQ to hang out on for the rest of my life, I’d pick Broad Street. I can get my cinematic fix at Broadway, get fed at Bohns or Dolce, have a drink at the Lord Roberts, and do a bit of shopping at Wild or Rough Trade. Happy days!
