Festival UK* 2022 is inviting expressions of interest from Creative Teams for a funded R&D project to create compelling, ambitious and jaw-dropping public engagement acts on a global scale.

Festival UK* 2022 has a bold vision to bring people together to celebrate the power of creativity, calling for collaboration from teams across five sectors: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics.
Festival UK* 2022 is inviting Creative Teams from STEAM sectors, to apply to take part in a paid R&D project. This is a £3million funded R&D project - with 30 selected teams each being awarded up to £100k - at the end of which all ideas will be exhibited as a snapshot of the UK’s creativity, to inspire future generations.
Four commissions will be led by Creative Teams from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and six will be driven by Creative Teams from across the UK. Up to 10 Creative Teams; to be selected from the 30 teams participating in the R&D project, will be shortlisted to have their idea taken into full commission and be part of the Festival UK* 2022 public project which will be launched in Autumn 2021.

Timeline and dates for your diary
Applications opened on Wednesday 9 September, and the deadline for submission of applications is 15.00 BST on Friday 16 October. The R&D programme will take place between November 2020 and January 2021.
