A new £249,000 grant pot being distributed by Nottingham City Council, allocated by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, is now taking applications. Money can be used for marketing and promotion, equipment purchase, shop-front improvement and more.
Work OpportunitiesAs part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Nottingham City Council has allocated £249k to a new High Street Small Business grant scheme.
What is the grant for?
There are five "themes" that can be applied for via the fund:
Details and examples for each theme can be found online here.
How much money can a small business apply for?
This depends on which of the 'themes' the application comes under. Each theme has grants available ranging from £1500 to £5000. Businesses can apply for multiple 'themes', up to the total value of £10,000 - but these applications must all be made at the same time. Most of these themes must be applied for by individual businesses, but Theme 2 (Marketing and Promotion), can be applied for by businesses working together in a consortium. Total project costs can be more than the maximum grant available, but only the advertised grant value will be paid - the business will have to cover any additional costs.
Note: Businesses must able to pay for the cost of the project upfront, and will then be reimbursed by Nottingham City Council. VAT costs will not be covered by the grant.
When is the deadline to apply?
There is no deadline, but money is already being allocated so when it's gone, it's gone! All projects must planned to be completed and paid for before the end of March 2023.
How do I apply?
1) Read the supporting documentation and complete the application form and supporting documents here.
2) You must include quotes for project costs. This can be written quotes from suppliers, or simply screenshots of items for sale online. If the application is for an event, you must provide a budget for the event with your application breaking down the costs.
