The theatre seeks three playwrights to feature in new filming project this spring.
Work OpportunitiesNottingham Playhouse is on the lookout for three writers to feature in a brand-new online collection of films later this spring.
The project is called Still Life: Untold stories from Nottingham now. For it, Nottingham Playhouse will commission a group of writers to explore the unknown tales of Nottingham in 2021. Each writer will be paired with a member of Nottingham’s communities. Using conversations with these individuals as a starting point, the writers will create new 5-7 minute digital dramas (as a monologue or duologue) that shed light on the previously unexplored stories of how we live now.
The plays will be shot on location by the Playhouse team, in accordance with social distancing, with professional actors. Still Life will be released via the Nottingham Playhouse website in early May 2021. Still Life will form part of a brand new large-scale digital season, which the Playhouse will be producing later in the spring.
Adam Penford, Artistic Director at Nottingham Playhouse, said:
“The pandemic has changed the way we live and Still Life will capture this moment in time, revealing some of the lesser-known stories of the people of Nottingham in 2021. They are part of our on-going commitment to nurture the immense talent in the region, and provide some much-needed employment to freelancers, many of whom have had little government support since last March.”
Interested writers need to a send a sample of their work, CV and Equal Opportunities form to the Playhouse by Wednesday 17 February 2021.
