The Open Art Exhibition is almost here and consideration is on Monday the 22nd. If your work is selected it will be on display in front of corporate away days, networking events, workshops and patrons at THINK Nottingham Cafe and Gallery over the 6 weeks of summer.
Work AnnouncementsThe Summer Open Exhibition is open to aspiring and established artists and photographers. Please read these guidelines carefully and bring your work for selection anytime between
2-8pm Monday 22 July to THiNK Meeting Rooms and Art Gallery, Cobden Chambers, off Pelham St, Nottingham NG1 2ED.
Selection does not take place at any other time. Please print and complete the Entry Form below to bring with you. Curators will look at your work and if selected for hanging in the exhibition, will discuss pricing with you. If your work is not selected this time you will be able to take it away with you.
How to Enter
• Open to all ages.
• Entries must be your own, original artwork.
• Entries must be wall-based and no larger than 1 metre square.
• You (or a friend) must bring your artwork in person between 2-8pm on Monday July 22nd.
• You can bring up to 3 pieces of work.
• All work must be for sale.
• All work must have your name, phone number, and email address clearly and securely displayed on the reverse (with the title of the piece if applicable).
• All work must be suitably framed or mounted and strung ready for hanging.
• You may also bring a small quantity of prints, greetings cards or notelets with images of the work you have submitted for hanging. Additional prints of the framed work you have submitted must be mounted but not framed. Both prints and cards should be wrapped. (Please note there is a higher commission rate on these additional items - see below)
• Please bear in mind THINK is a family venue and they may not select work that may cause offence.
• There is no entry or selection fee but please read below for hanging fees and commission.
Selected Entries
• THINK will look at your work on Monday July 22nd 2-8pm.
• If selected, your work will be exhibited from Thursday July 25th - Sunday 8th September 2019.
• There is a hanging fee of £10 per piece which must be paid on selection day, July 22nd. Subject to space, you may hang up to 3 selected pieces of work.
• Commission on sales of hung work is one third of the price the piece is sold for.
• Commission on sales of additional unframed prints, cards or notelets is 50% of the price these items are sold for.
• All work is submitted at your own risk, THINK cannot accept liability for any damage.
Opening Night Party 4.30 - 8pm Thursday 25th July The exhibition will open at 4.30pm Thursday 25th July. All participants are encouraged to attend and to bring friends and colleagues. There is a complimentary drink for everyone.
The Judges' Prize All work will be eligible for entry into the Judges' Prize which is a two weekend solo exhibition at THiNK with preview evening. The Judges' Panel is made up of six people from different backgrounds including gallery-owners, art professionals and critics, artists, media and creative directors. The panel will be confirmed shortly and announced on the website.
The People's Prize - 3 winners All work exhibited in the exhibition is entered into the People's Prize and the winners are determined by visitor votes collected from 25th July to 8th September. Winners receive a joint exhibition taking over the whole gallery for a fortnight.
