Nottingham City of Literature is looking for an organised and dynamic Operations Manager to join the team.
Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature is an ambitious, evolving cultural charity and we are looking for a dynamic operations professional to join the core team. This is a new role for an experienced manager who believes passionately in our values and vision, and who wants to join us in our mission: building a better world with words.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with both finance and operations expertise. They will be responsible for delivering and directing resources, people, data and IT. They will be comfortable being hands-on to get things done, and flexible in their approach to achieve results in a fast-changing environment. They will also possess a strong people-focus and a passion for maintaining organisational wellbeing.
The successful candidate will join at an exciting time in our development and will be able to shape and contribute to the future plans and success of the organisation. The post-holder will report directly to the Director, Sandeep Mahal, supporting them to provide effective and appropriate accountability to the Board and will lead the process of embedding and strengthening new systems and processes to support our creative leadership and literature work with young people, schools, universities, libraries, literacy and cultural partners across Nottingham.
This is a senior role, and the post-holder will be involved at trustee, organisational and team level and represent Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature externally. We are committed to promoting diversity in all our work and would be looking for the same commitment from you.
If you care deeply about our vision, and are skilled at developing organisations in ways that create productive, enjoyable working environments, we would love to hear from you.
As a UNESCO City of Literature, we’re dedicated to building a better world with words. Our permanent designation enables us to use the power of words to transform lives, create opportunities and establish Nottingham on the international stage.
