Are you passionate about supporting start-ups and small businesses across Nottinghamshire? Do you want to empower people from all walks of life to become their own boss? Do you want to play a role in driving economic recovery across the region?
The Business & IP Centre puts libraries at the heart of delivering its business support, and we’re looking for an ambitious individual to join our team at an exciting time as we expand our offer to libraries across the county of Nottinghamshire. As the Business & IP Centre Advisor, you will have the opportunity to shape the growth of a thriving business community across the city and county, working with start-ups and small businesses on a one-to-one and group basis as well as engaging and training library staff to be advocates for our work.
As part of a National Network you’ll not only have the support of local colleagues but a network of others at similar Regional BIPCs around the country as well as accessing in-depth training from the Intellectual Property Office on all aspects of IP.
The post will be partly home-based and also involve travel to library sites, including Beeston, Bulwell, Mansfield and Sutton in Ashfield, to deliver training and events, and elsewhere as needed for outreach purposes.
You will have a keen interest in supporting business start-ups, knowledge of the local small business landscape and excellent IT and people skills, as well as the ability to engage entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds in acquiring the information and skills they need to make their business ideas a reality.
The post is fixed-term to the end of March 2023.
