Handmade glass lampwork jewellery, beads, accessories and decorative homeware
bden glass is a one woman show based in Sneinton Market. Glass beads and other forms are made using the lampwork technique, which uses gas powered torch to melt glass into beads and various other sculptural forms. These glass pieces are then made into jewellery and decorative items.
I learnt my glass making skills during my 3D design degree 2007-2010 and instantly fell in love with the process. Being in total control of such a seemingly fragile and also rigid material in its most fluid state is truly magical, its like alchemy! I enjoy challenging the preconceptions of the capabilities of glass and like to experiment regularly.
Jewellery has always been a passion of mine. To have the opportunity to develop practical skills that also allows me to progress with my jewellery making practice is a true joy.
I take great enjoyment in teaching others what I have learnt during my workshops and courses too. Seeing students melting glass for the first time and coming out of the session with usable beads is priceless.
