Lucy
I'm a tour guide, researcher and writer who is interested in looking with fresh eyes on the familiar.
I research, write and conduct guided walking tours looking at the architecture of Nottingham.
So far I've concentrated on the work of architects Watson Fothergill and Thomas Chambers Hine, as well as looking at the buildings of the Lace market. I also present talks on these subject in libraries and for local history groups, U3A and others.
I'm interested in doing research for architects, builders and others who wish to learn more about the local built environment or the history of their buildings.
With my background in journalism and art history, as well as events marketing, I use a combination of skills to present information in entertaining and informative ways.
I have worked on content for audio tour apps, researched buildings for academic project and am currently putting together more tours and talks.
Modern urban living in and amongst refurbished lace factories and warehouses. On-trend independent retailers and many bars, restaurants, cafés, galleries, arts cinema and theatres. A buzz in the daytime and a rhythm at night.
