Skate Nottingham are dedicated to unlocking the potential of our city's skateboard heritage & community, facilitating active urban spaces and connecting young people to education & employment opportunities linked to their interests and skills.
We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company that deliver a range of projects in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire that work to:
* Put the area on the map as a global skateboarding destination in the run-up to the sport's inclusion in the 2020 Olympics, building on Nottingham's 50+ year history as one of the original homes of British skateboarding;
* Ensure that the estate of skateparks and active public realm is designed with the input of users and international best practice, and is activated all year round by a programme of inclusive events, free beginners' sessions and mentor development programmes;
* Design and deliver educational programmes that build on the interests and skills of young skaters, including photography, film, the visual arts, fashion, architecture, construction and the built environment; and
* Organise events that bring people into the city and enable our community to showcase all of the rad things Nottingham skateboarding is involved in - from photo and art exhibitions, to academic talks, to DIY skatepark building, to music, film making and skate competitions.
