After a vicious acid attack leaves her with severe scars, Jade must adapt to the new life ahead of her. Though she is doing well, the world outside of the hospital hits hard and fast as strangers, colleagues and even her own family seem unable to see past the scars. Struggling to cope, Jade looks to plastic surgery to retrieve parts of what she’s lost. Dutch director Sacha Polak explores society’s relationship with beauty and worth in this arresting portrait of a defiant yet vulnerable woman.
