Get an introduction to Persian Daf drumming at City Arts.
The unique instrument is a large Iranian-Kurdish frame drum. It is used in popular and classical music in Iran.
The workshop will be lead by Sherry Fatemi from the Nottingham drumming collective Arnica. Sherry will guide you through the basics of playing the instrument, teach you some Persian rhythms, and explain the Daf's important role in traditional Persian music.
You do not need to have any previous experience of drumming or playing an instrument.
All ages welcome.
