21st April 2020
10:30 - 18:50 GMT
During this BFI Study Day, students will be supported as we apply theory and study key texts from the Daily Mirror, the Daily Mail, The Guardian online and i newspapers.
Analytical skills needed both in exams and future careers will be developed while modes of media language specific to newspapers will be embedded. We will debate representation as well as the role of audiences using historical, social, cultural and political contexts.
Media industries will be investigated and reference to social and participatory media will reveal newspapers to be evolving media products. There will also be the opportunity to meet media industry speakers, giving students and teachers a rare opportunity to find out more about the newspaper industry directly from those involved.
THIS EVENT IS FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS ONLY.
Suitable for those studying Journalism, Media and related subjects both at A-Level and in Post 16 learning.
