26th July 2019
19:00 - 22:00 BST
In collaboration with Notts Activist Wellbeing for Notts Queer Pride, 1525 Collective will be screening the incredible independent film Happy Birthday, Marsha! with an intersectional queer panel to follow, where we will be discussing the film, the origins of Pride and the importance of our new anti-capitalist, anti-cop and anti-corporate Notts Queer Pride.
Happy Birthday, Marsha! is a film about iconic transgender artist and activist, Marsha "Pay it No Mind" Johnson and her life in the hours before she ignited the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City.
Written and directed by Reina Gossett and Sasha Wortzel.
This is a FREE event, but tickets will be required for entry due to limited capacity. Donations towards the cost of the screening are accepted and there will be a donation option on the ticket site to come.
This event is wheelchair accessible and disability friendly. If you have any specific needs e.g. signing or questions, please contact Notts Activist Wellness or 1525 Collective directly with time in advance so we can make sure we can provide support.
