20th February 2019
Nottingham Writers’ Studio is heading to the Salaam Shalom kitchen. One of our wonderful members, Ferzana Shan, is a member of the steering group for the charity and has kindly organised for us to be able to do this. We’ll be taking over the soup kitchen for one night and we need your help!
We want to provide a tasty and nutritious hot meal for up to 80 people in need. This means providing ingredients, cooks and assistants for the evening. This is going to cost money and we need your help to raise that money. We’re going to put the donate button up here for those in a hurry but everything you need to know about the event can be found below.
Our fund raising target is £150. Every penny you donate will go towards food for those in need. Any money left over after the event will be used to purchase items for the Himmah food bank. We’ll need food first and foremost. This means someone doing a lot of shopping. That someone will probably be our chair of the board. (Don’t worry she loves shopping, and this was her idea anyway!) In order to do all that shopping she’ll need some funds. That is where you come in. We need money. Without donations we’ll struggle to provide enough food for everyone that turns up. We really don’t want to have to turn anyone away.
