Cassius Green is a down-on-his-luck 30-something living with his girlfriend Detroit in his uncle’s garage. When he takes up a job as a telemarketer, he learns that he’ll boost his sales by using his “white voice”, and soon becomes a power caller, catching the eye of the company’s obnoxious CEO. With his co-workers fighting for their rights, and his activist girlfriend questioning Cassius’s sense of values, things quickly spiral out of control and into surrealism. The most talked-about film of the year, SORRY TO BOTHER YOU is a masterpiece of originality and satire, and a sharp commentary on race, class and capitalism.
