THE LONGCUT
Having formed back in 2002, this Manchester based three-piece were one of the most hotly tipped bands to emerge from these shores in the early part of the 21st century. Debut single 'Transition' and its follow-up 'A Quiet Life' paved the way for bands like Foals to take dance infused, math structured rock into the mainstream. Eventually signing to a major label which saw them play prominent slots at the likes of Glastonbury and SXSW along with several major tour supports including The Charlatans and Nine Black Alps, The Longcut could easily have progressed into the mainstream themselves were it not for their "no compromise" stance. Their first two albums (2006's 'A Call And Response' and its follow up three years later 'Open Hearts') received a wealth of critical acclaim from numerous publications and having been on hiatus for a number of years, the band returned this year with their third (and some would argue finest to date) long player 'Arrows'.
Having been trying to bring this band to Nottingham for a number of years it's fair to say we're incredibly excited about this one, as should you be too!

PURPLE HEART PARADE
Also hailing from Manchester and led by the inimitable figure of Peter Cowap, Purple Heart Parade play widescreen, psychedelic shoegaze that aims for the stars and reaches far beyond.
Recently signed to esteemed independent Club AC30, they've been compared to early Verve (i.e. before "The" was added and egos created) and release their first EP for the label entitled 'Lonestar' in September.
Again, they're a band we've been doing our utmost to lure to this city for a while so to get them on this bill makes us very happy bunnies indeed.

THE HOLY ORDERS
If you know anything about the Hull music scene you'll almost certainly be aware of Matt Edible. The list of bands past and present to feature this incredibly talented singer/songwriter is endless, and already this year he's been instrumental in two critically acclaimed albums in the shape of Fonda 500's 'I (Heart) Fonda 500' and Matt Edible & The Obtuse Angels' 'Stairgazing'.
Prior to that, last year saw the release of 'Dedicated Follower Of Fashioning Misery', The Holy Orders first single in two years. Indeed their output has been pretty sporadic since debut album 'For The Ears Of Dogs To Come' announced their arrival in 2013. Nevertheless, The Holy Orders ethos is about quality not quantity, and as the saying goes, good things come to those that wait.
Musically they've been compared to Editors, Interpol, Mogwai and Hope Of The States so it goes without saying, Nottingham, you're in for a treat.
