About BeAT yOuR HeArT OuT
Started by two girls with a passion for live music, Beat your heart out is especially keen to support women who play in bands, DJ or are otherwise involved in the scene.
We get excited by punk, garage, rock n roll, 50s and 60s R&B, surf, psyche, rockabilly, soul and assorted slop: we’re definitely inspired by vintage sounds! The bands we put on tend to have a nod to the past, but we’re not stuck there: the kind of trashy, fun stuff we like is very much alive and throbbing!

•• THE NIGHT TIMES (Los Angeles, USA) ••
www.facebook.com/thenighttimes626
The Night Times have exploded onto the L.A. scene with a massive beat band bang. These young upstarts hail from Los Angeles, and are proving to be one of the most electrifying live acts in the whole of California: playing wildly energetic 60s style garage rock n roll, blending snotty energetic snarl with irresistibly catchy hooks. A must see for all fans of the 'Back from the Grave', 'Pebbles' and ‘Nuggets’ compilations with a major Cavern Club era Beatles/Early Rolling Stones influence. The Night Times are causing a storm wherever they set foot!
"The night times look and sound like a band from Los Angeles circa late 1966 - they sound like it too with heaps of fuzz, great harmonies, wicked beats, and a slew of great original songs." - Glynis Ward (Whig Out! on WFMU)
"Rich blend of contemporary rock, ’60s beat music and garage punk" -Brett Callwood (LA Weekly)
"Out of the garage and in your face rock n roll" - Matt Diehl (Rolling Stone)
